Franklin Bank to help with expenses
at M.D.Anderson Hospital for Joshua
Ward.Mr. Ward has a paraganglioma
tumor attached to
the carotic artery
in his neck.
Three doctors
will perform his
surgery at the
Houston hospital
to remove the
tumor. Cost is

more than $100,000. He will have to
put up a $7,500 deposit, as he has no
health insurance.
Mr. Ward qualifies for a 50 percent
cost reduction. The hospital will
cover 50 percent of the cost and he
is expected to pay the remaining 50
percent. The tumor began as a small
knot on his neck and it has grown to
a size of approximately a half-dollar
piece. He is having chest pains,
tremors, no appetite and is sick at
his stomach most of the time. He
NEWS
becomes breathless when he does
anything strenuous.

benefit a Rusk baby who will undergo
surgery in Dallas Oct. 28.

required to remove a strip of bone
from his skull to allow room for his
brain to grow.
The baby will have to wear a pro-
tective helmet costing $1,800 which
insurance will not cover. The family
anticipates uninsured expenses of
approximately $3,000.
Wayne's parents are Jeremy and
Cathy Lee of Rusk. Grandparents
