Four were dead when extricated, including
one woman passenger, and the two survivors were
rushed to a local hospital, not expected to live.
Hundreds of company employees and tran-
sient pedestrians worked feverishly for over an
hour trying to extricate the victims from under
the street car, and their efforts were at last suc-
ces« ul, only to find the victims horribly mangled,
with only two having any chance of recovery.
The air was filled with shrieks of the injured
and dying and many on-lookers were frantic with
fear that some of their loved ones be pinned under
the wreckage. This undoubtedly was the most

the pre-war days.

Mr. W. H. Stark,
$ Dear Sir: ‘ --- ••
I write you again today. A Minneapolis road contractor who .
is here visiting with his folks. was in my house, he saw An Orange
. Lender and said—"What do you know about Orange. Texas”—I
1: told him not much, but I was learning all I could He said the '
Asphalt business alone will put that town on the map, then there
is the deep water port, and the oil business—"Why man alive, all ■
’ other oil field, are afraid of Orange because Orange has (he natu- $
' ral outlet and has the pipe line besides—that is big sleepy southern
' town that will wake up and stretch herself some day and realise
the la on the map. She is a young giant just beginning to feel the 3 >
' lull poster of the strength of her natural location and outlet." be '
■ added. "Look out. the rail read companies will toon realise the 3 •
' importance of that town and build in there—"
I have a home paper in my lap with a letter from one of our
eitizens who went to Loe Angela*. Hi speht a while there six
rears ago, went back to invest and to deal in real estate. He says
he is too late, the real estate is out of hie reach, thousands of ‘build-

him all the dope I have en S. E. Texas. Hs asys he bears on every 1
’ hand that there to some chance there now. He wants to know about ,,
Orange and the deep water project, and the oil fields,
Now Mr. Stark, give me all thq dope you have. I writ* you be- 1
