announces cast
Rusk is getting ready for its upcom-
ing spring comedy, "Noises Off."
Director Laura Cunningham has an-
nounced the cast consisting of'Lloyd"
to be played by Eddie Breen, Sheilah
0'Heaney will play "Dotty," "Gary"
will be portrayed by Caleb Summers,
Jenni Daniels will be "Brooke," Tim
Howell will play the part of "Frederick,"
"Belinda" will be acted by Castanya
Breen, Dan Trent will be "Selsdon,"
"Poppy" will be played by Jessica
Breen-Ford and "Tim" will be portrayed
by Michael Tapia.
"Noises Off," by Michael Frayn, is a
play within a play. Behind the scenes
a bumbling, second-rate theatrical
troupe prepares to perform in a
Broadway-bound play.
"Noises Off" will be presented
April 29, 30, May 1,2,7 and 8, at the
historic Cherokee Theater, 157 W. 5th
Street in Rusk.

Maydelle planning
committee meets Feb. 20
The planning committee for the
Maydelle Centennial Iron Horse Cel-
ebration will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday,
Feb. 20 at Bertha's Cafe, U.S. High-
way 84, in Maydelle. The committee
is now selling centennial cookbooks
at the pre-arrival price of $12. They
may be purchased from any commit-
tee member, at Bertha's Cafe or the
Cherokee Trading Post. Cookbooks
will sell for $15 upon arrival. Sponsors
are being sought for the centennial
theme tee shirts. All profits from the
celebration will benefit the Maydelle
Volunteer Fire Department as it seeks

Guinn, 73, of Dallas formerly
of Rusk, was held at 10
am Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 in the
Autry Funeral Home Chapel,
Jacksonville with Rev. Dr. Jerry
Carlisle and Rev. Byron Jackson officiating. Burial was at
Providence Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Guinn died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 in Dallas. He was born
January 13,1937 in Rusk.
Mr. Guinn loved to ham it up! Either on his Hamm Radio
or by his jokes and pranks. But his greatest love was his
family. He kept up with everyone on a daily basis, either
by phone, e-mail or Facebook. He loved the information
highway but nothing compares to the Heavenly Highway
he's taken to his Lord. Mr. Guinn graduated from Rusk
High School and attended Lon Morris College and Stephen
F. Austin State University. He served in the U. S. Army for
two tours of duty. The second tour was during the Cuban
Missile Crisis. He retired as an Internal Revenue Service
officer for the government. He was a lifelong member of the
Rusk First United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mearl Wallace and
Joe Hearne Guinn, and a sister, Mary Kate Guinn Holcomb.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Charline Ault Guinn
of Dallas; son. Todd Guinn of Rowlett; daughter and son-
in-law, Kecia and Barry Wallace of North Richland Hills;
seven grandchildren, Tyler Guinn, Trevor Guinn, Amber
Guinn, McKenzie Wallace, Hudson Wallace, Nick Wallace
and Crystal Wallace; three sisters and a brother-in-law,
Gloria Jennings and Nancy Guinn of Rusk, Dixie and Bill
Mayall of Clifton, Va.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Terry
Guinn of Lake Striker and Wayne and Toni Guinn of Rusk;
two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Cynthia and Jerry
Alexander of Irving and Sharon Ault of Jacksonville; many
nieces and nephews.
