Gene Mcintosh, 66, of Alto
was at 11 a.m.Friday, March
19 in Davilla.
Mr. Mcintosh died Tues-
day, March 2. He was born
July 8, 1943, in Houston to
Leonard Sidney and Martha
Belle Stratton Mcintosh. He
lived most of his hfe in Aus-
tin and attended the First
Assembly of God Church in
Nacogdoches. He worked
as a transmission specialist.
Graveside servicefor James
Doran Everett, 97, was at
2 p.m. Monday at Jarratt
Cemetery with the Rev. Steve
Edwards officiating.
Mr. Everett died on March
•31 in Wimberley, where he
had resided for the last 18
months. HewasbornFeb. 9,
1913, the fifth of six children
of Vie and B. H. Everett of
Ponta.
Mr. Everett graduated from

Hunter Whiteman, 54, of
Alto was at 2 pan, Tuesday
at Alto City Cemetery with
the Rev. Odis Bryan and Jim
Bob Lindsey officiating.
Mr. Whiteman diedFriday.
He was born March 31, 1956,
in Rusk to Warren Taylor and
•Janice Elizabeth Williams
Whiteman. He lived most
of his life in Alto and was a
member of the Alto Mission-
ary Baptist Church. He was

flew them in shows and was
a professional guitar player.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; wife, Linda
LynnMcIntosh; andnephews
Glenn Edward Anderson
Jr. and Bryan Gordon Pen-

Survivors include a daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Rhonda
Sue and Ricardo Trevino
of Austin; a son, Rodney
JAMES DORAN EVERETT
Lon Morris Cpllege, The Uni-
versity of Texas at Austin in
1935. and Stephen F. Austin
State University. He taught
English, speech, and drama
for 19 years in New Sum-
merfield and Jacksonville
High School. His students
won numerous honors in UIL
one act play contests. He was
a member of Central Baptist
Church.
His wife of 60 years, Joan
TEX HUNTER WHITEMAN
a longtime employee with his
father at Whiteman Foods.
Preceding him in death
were his father. Warren Tay-
lor Whiteman and mother,
Janice Elizabeth White-
man.
Survivors include sisters
and a brother-in-law, Robin
and Kenny Callaway of Alto
and Jalna Gayle of Austin;
his step-mother, Barbara
Whiteman of Alto; a step-
sister, Mindy McLaughlin

8:30 -10 a.m. Tuesdays and 6-7:30
p.m. Wednesdays. Interested persons

County jail has new
telephone number,
The Cherokee County Jail has a
new telephone number for the public
to call when inquiring about inmates.
Due to increased calls for the jail,
Sheriff James Campbell decided to
have lines added to help lessen the
load for the dispatchers who receive
numerous 911 calls and many other
types of calls on a daily basis 24 hours
a day seven days a week.
The new telephone number (903)
683-6365 is only for jail information
pertaining to inmates, bonds, warrants
and inmate visitation.
Jacksonville College
presents 'Little Women'
"Little Women," by John D. Ravold,
adapted from the novel by Louisa M.
Alcott will be presented at 7:30 p.m.
April 22-24.

Buckner Chapel on the Jacksonville

Mission Tejas State Park
at Weches will sponsor its
annual Folk Festival from
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday,
April 24.
Crafts and occupations will
be demonstrated by persons
dressed in period costumes.
Demonstrations may include
the one room school, bucket
making, quilting, tool making
and use, blacksmithing, spin-
ning, weaving, beading. Civil
War exhibits, soap making
and laundry, dulcimer music
andflint knapping. The Texas
Top Guns will entertain with
wild west, re-enactments.
They will bring their chuck
wagon with food .
Admission for this event is
free. Donations may be made
to The Mission Tejas State
Park Association.
The park is located on State
Highway 21, west of Alto and
east of Crockett.
