TO ATTEND LONE MEETING
Members of the Gleaners society
and the Woman’s Missionary society
of the First Methodist church are
planning to go to Beaumont tomor-
row to attend the sone meeting of
the Beaumont district that will be
held at the Roberts Avenue Metho-
dist chureh throughout the day. The
meeting will begin at 9:30.
There will be no meeting of the
Gleaners society on Thuradhy, as a
lecture at the First Methodist
church by Lieutenant-Commander
Edgar Hoe, a missionary officer of
the Salvation Army, will be given
for the women of Orange and the
missionary meetings of the church
will be postponed to allow the mem-
bers to hear Mr. Hoe's address
His subject will be on the "Wo-
men of India’1 and will undoubtedly
prove mont Interesting to those who
hear him. Mr Hoe will speak at
the First Methodist church Thurs-
day afternoon at 3 o'clock and all
women of Orange and vicinity are
cordially invited to attend.

Mrs. W L. Blanchard delightfully
entertained a number of children at
her home, 907 Cypress street, on
Monday afternoon from 3 to 4
o’clock honoring the seventh birth-
day anniversary of her young son,
Manter W. L. Blanchard, Jr.
Games and contests were enjoyed
at the home during the early part
of the afternoon, following which
the guests were taken to the play-
ground on Fifteenth street, for out-
of-door games
During the games, the first prise in
a heart contest was given to Kather-
ine Lawson, and the booby prize
fell to the young honoree.
Pretty paper caps were distrib-
1 uted among the youngsters as fa-
vors. and refreshments of Eskimo
pies, angel food cake and candles
were served from a prettily arranged
table, that centered the white birth-
day cake with its seven pink candles.
