Barnett, area country and western
music entertainers, will stage a
benefit performance this after-
noon at the Vidor Optimist tur-
key shoot being held each week-
end in November on FM 105 at
Freeway.
Prizes, donated by Vidor mer-
chants. are given away each Sun-
day- afternoon. A hunter’s yest>
with shell pocket' will be given
today. Malcolm Scaife is in
charge of the shoot today.
. There have been 119 turkeys
awarded in the first two week-
ends. according to' Marvin Jones,
club secretary - treasurer. Ten
shooters shoot at individual tar-
gets with the shot closest to the
bullseye winning the turkey.
The last weekend in November
will honor state officials. Repre-
sentatives Will Smith and Clyde
Haynes Jr. and Sen.-elect D. Roy
Harrington are scheduled Jo at-
tend, according to Publicity Chair-
man Willard Cady. '
Shooting times are from 9 a m.
to 6:30 p m on Saturday and from •
noon to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. All
profits will go to the Vidor Youth
Center. -

Dovie Frederick of Vidor and Mrs.
Arli Harp from California. Mrs.
Ophelia Wilson also was the
mother of Mrs. Frederick and
Mrs. Harp
Wayne Ford, brother ofLouls,
J. T. and Johnny Ford of Bridge
City. Is in the hospital at Ard-
more. Okla., under treatment for
