Honoring retirees
Royce Bartels and Floyd Wienecke were honored as the first retirees to have their names
placed on the wooden base of the Austin County Retiree Recognition Trophy which retired
county treasurer Betty Krueger introduced to Commissioners Court on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Krueger donated the trophy recognizing retirees for 2005 and after. Wienecke worked for the
county from 1975 to 2005 and Bartels from 1991 to 2005. Krueger worked for the county for
52 1/2 years from 1952 to 2004.
He said the first bell will ring
at 7:45 a.m. and the tardy bell
at 7:50 a.m.
The bell to end the day will
ring at 3:10 p.m.
