Football gets started on two fronts in Denton
Friday as the NTSU Eagles and the Denton High *
School Broncos begin preparations for the 1962 cam-
paign
Coach Odus Mitchell will assemble an expected
50-man squad Friday afternoon to issue equipment
and training instructions.
The first workout is scheduled at 9 a.m. Saturday
follow ed by an afternoon session at 3:30. The two-
a-day pattern will continue. Mondays through Satur-
days.. until Sept. 15.
Also on hand lor the Saturday opening will be
about 25 freshmen for the 1962 Eaglet team.
The Broncos, under Coach James Magill for the
first time, got the jump with their first workout slat-
ed at 9 a.m. Friday morning. An afternoon drill is
scheduled for 4 p.m.
Denton will then have two-a-day drills until it reg-
isters for the iall term on Wednesday, switching then
to a regular afternoon drill at 2:30.
Equipment was checked out Wednesday as the
Broncos took physical examinations from Dr. James <
Pedigo at the field house. .
Between 60 and 65 varsity and B team candidates
are expected for the Friday morning workout. :
