educated in Germany. Dr. Witkon
settled in Palestine in 1936, joining
the Department for Trade and In-
dustry of the Jewish Agency for
Palestine. From 1942 to 1944 he
served the Mandatory Government
as Deputy Controller of Light In-
dustries in charge of textiles. He
became vice-president of the Pal-
§stine Corporation, Ltd., a bank-
ing institution, in 1945. He, too,
is married and has two children.
