were halted and the group was

Miss Virginia Hailey, Hillsboro;
maid of honor; Mrs. Paul M. Pe-
»gues, Cleburne, matron of honor;
and Misses Betty Burnette, Waco
and Shirley Baker, Cleburne, bri-
desmaids. They were attired in
Apink chiffon dresses, fashioned
“ith shirred bodices and bouffant
skirts. The neckline formed a dra-
pe that tied in the back and fell
• to the hemline. They wore long
pink gloves, pink satin slippers
and pink face veils attached to
pink velvet head bands. Each car-
ried pale pink fans decorated with
an arrangement of American Be-
auty roses.
• Jan Gathings, Fort Worth, was
•the flower girl. She wore a pink
cotton satin dress, trimmed with
matching lace and scattered rose
• petals from a pink basket. Her
brother, Stuart Gathings, was the
ring bearer and carried the rings
on a pink satin pillow.
The bride, who entered with
her father, wore a floor length
gown of Chantilly lace and deluster
satin, designed with a V neckline,
and short sleeves that were ap-
pliqued with lace scallops. The fit-
ted bodice was embroidered with
seed pearls, and the satin skirt
was enchanced by back pleats
that formed a chapel length train.

the Saint Mark Methodist church.
Reverend Ervin M. Gathings, pas-
tor of St. Luke Methodist church,
.Fort Worth, read the double ring
ceremony.
The couple pledged their vows
before an altar banked with ar-
rangements of pink chrysanthe-.
mums, woodwardia fern and crys-
tal torcheres. Immediately behind
„the altar cross was a similar flor-
al arrangement. The altar rail
was also flanked by smaller ar-
rangements of the chrysanthe-
mums, fern and torcheres.
, Preceding the ceremony the
candles were lighted by John Al-
len Browder and Joe William
Browder, brothers of the bride,
followed by Miss Angela Boone of
Weatherford, who read the poem,
“How Do I Love Thee,” by Eliza-
beth Barrett Browning. She also
sang “I Love Thee” and at the
close of the ceremony “The Lord’s
Prayer.” Miss Boone was accom-
panied by Miss Rojeane Collins,
•who also played the traditional
wedding music.
Charles Keaton Ewing served as
best man. James Richard Brow-
"der, Abilene; Joe William Brow-
der and John Allen Browder, Cle-
burne, brothers of the bride; and
"Paul M. Pegues, Cleburne, were

pink cake squares and salted nuts.
Crystal and silver appointments
were used.
Carol Ann Turner registered the
guests in the bride’s book, and
Mrs. L. J. Turner directed the
guests to the gifts which were dis-
played by Sandra Fletcher and
Charlotte Meals.
The bride-to-be, who has been
attending TCU for the summer se-
mester, is to be married in the
home of her parents, on the ev-
ening of Sept. 6.
The young couple will enter Ar-
lington State college this fall.
Lu Lane Beaver Entertains
Miss Gatton was honored Frid-
ay night at the home of Miss Lu
Lane Beaver with a lingerie show-

Immediately following the cere-
mony, a reception was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. De-
Garmo, 9 Hill Terrace Place.
Greeting the guests at the door
were Miss Rojeane Collins and Mr.
and Mrs. DeGarmo. The reception
line was composed of Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Browder, Mir. and Mrs.
W. D. Lee, the bride and groom,
and the bride’s attendants.
The bride’s table was laid with
a pink cloth and centered with a
milk glass epergne filled with an
arrangement of pink chrysanthe-
mums, white carnations and
greenhouse smilax. Frosted punch
and pink and white wedding cake
were served. The register table
held an arrangement of white Fu-
jii chrvsanthemums in a milk
glass shell. Bouquets of gladioli
and roses were arranged at var-
ious points throughout the house.
Misses Carol Holliday, Ann Mit-
chell, Judy Peacock, Mary Jo
Moreland, Marianne Rawland,
Ann Rapp and Mrs. Bill Glass,
all of Cleburne; Mmes Frank Hy-
de, Bill Chaney, Fort Worth; Mrs.
Harold Woosley, Abilene and Miss
Mary Ann Noland, Hamilton, were
911 in the house party. Mrs. Gayle
Brown, Fort Worth, registered the
guests, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Reid,
and Mr. and Mrs. Shirley R. Clark
bade the guests goodbye.
For her going away ensemble
the bride chose a toast-colored
silk and rayon suit, with brown
lizard shoes and bag, white kid
gloves and a white beaver hat.
After a wedding trip to Lake
Murray Lodge, Ardmore, Okla.;
the young couple will be at home
at 3122 Wingate, Fort Worth.
The bride will be a senior at
Texas Wesleyan college and is a
member of Entre Amis social so-
rority and Sigma Tau Delta. The
groom is a senior at Texas Chris-
tian university. Both are gradua-
tes of Cleburne High School.
Rehearsal Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Lee, par-
ents of the bridegroom, entertain-
ed the wedding party with a re-
hearsal dinner Saturday night at
their home, Glen Rose Star Route.
