“There isn't anything of consequence
to say in circumstances like these. It
is overwhelming, overpowering. To say
that I am glad to be home is super-
fluous. I accept this in the name of
the brave fellow* who came over and
served to the best of their ability,
making our success possible.’’
The welcome of the city began while

said to General Pershing:
“The citizens of New York thank God
for your safe return and as the mayor
of the city I wish to extend to you the
congratulations of a grateful people."

clerk of the Senate, who was retained
to compile these laws after the session
becomes one of the instr uctors in
history.
To meet the demands of kindergar-
ten teachers, a department of kinder-
garten work has been established, with
Miss Helen M. Christianson, B. S.,
University of Chicago, kindergarten
instructor in Kirksville State Normal
College for several years, in charge.

Wisconsin, is the new instructor in
reading and public speaking. O. W.
