Southern Pacific Railroad of Mexico
continued today despite the ultimatum
of Carlos Velazco, federal judge of
Nogales, Sonora, that unless the strike
was ended today federal trops would
operate trains.
Backed by a $35,000 contribution
from other Mexican labor organiza-
tions the railroad men apparently re-
mained steadfast in their expressed
determination to continue their strike
for increased pay.
Sonora state officials oppose gov-
ernment intervention in the strike.
