Every member of the troop U urged
to come out to the field day Saturday
at Feast Park and help the "Old

of this quarterly field day does not de-
cide the winner of the annual field day
f- trophy, yet every field day counts in
r. the final score, and the troop can t af-
ford to lose next Saturday.

Scout Saves Life.
I ' Last Sunday Scout Frank Patty Jr.
ot the Second Troop and Fred Sublett,
his chum, saved the lives of Mrs. Frank
Pattty and Miss Viola Burleson from
drowning in the Blanco river.
The two women were wading in the
river when suddenly Mrs. Patty stepped
Into a deep hole and was carried un-
der by the swift current Miss Burle-
son, in an attempt to reach Mrs. Pat-
ty. also stepped Into the deep water
ana was carried under by the suction

Scout Patty and his chum, Fred
Sablett, hearing the calls for help and
seeing the danger the two women were
M. rushed into the water, swam out
to where the women were and suc-
eeded in supporting them above the
i ■ iwater until the swift current carried
them to a place in the river where it
' I was shallow enough to stand and wade
out Mrs. Patty had gone under for
the secona time when her son, Frank,
meached her. It was not necessary to
use artificial respiration, although Mrs.
Patty had swallowed considerable
water. But for the quick work of the
two* bo” both women would have
[ Scout Patty will be recommended
to the National Court of Honor for an
ihonor medal, While Fred Sublett, who
s not a Boy Scout, will probably be
recommended for a Carnegie medal.
KI The Fourth Troop took a hike last
biday, April SO, to Dry Creek, where
