tion from her family and other
hardships.
Added interest was brought to
the story by its setting, the slum
section of Fort Worth a few de-
cades ago. Mrs. Greek made the
hardships and triumphs of Jany
and Chris very real by her artful
presentation.
The meeting was opened with
a covered dish supper. Two ban-
quet tables were placed in the
dining room, similarly centered
with a valentine arrangement of
a styrofoam heart half red and
half white, and flanked with red
and white tapers.
Red cloths covered the tables,
and place mats were white hearts.
The supper, served buffet style,
consisted of chicken and spa-
ghetti, apple salad, relishes, garlic
bread, lemon chiffon pie and
coffee.
Seventeen members and one
guest, Mrs. Greek, attended.
