David was born and raised in Kendall County, the fourth generation of farmers and
ranchers.
After graduation from Comfort High School, he attended Southwest Texas
Teachers College, San Marcos; and the University of Houston. Further education
was received through Service Schools in Biloxi, Mississippi; Cheyene, Wyoming;
and Anchorage, Alaska.
He is a veteran of the Korean War, married to the former Mary Burns, and they
have one son, Daryl, age 8.
David has farms and ranches in Gillespie and Kendall counties; raising sheep, small
grains, peaches, goats and cattle. His rapport and association with Agricultural
business makes him a natural to service farmers and ranchers in Gillespie and
Kendall Counties.
Among the many organizations he is currently active are The American Legion,
Masonic Lodge, Stonewall Chamber of Commerce, Stonewall Community Club
(cm rent President). Germania Farmers Verein, Fredericksburg United Methodist
Church (former Board Chairman), The Executive Committee of the Gillespie County
Committee on Aging, The Stonewall Beautification Club, and several Dance Clubs.
David is a long time Farm Bureau member and therefore already familiar with the
philosophy of the organization. The Board of Directors and Agency Manager along
with the Staff wish him the best of luck.

Lynne Lawson and her fellow
classmates “The Spirit of ’77,”
were honored with a Barbeque-
Game Party Sunday, May 15, at
Lynne’s home in Pleasant
Valley. The Lawsons hosted 30
graduating seniors, who made
the meal by bringing their
favorite dish topped off with
barbeque chicken and home-
made ice cream.
Softball, air-hockey, ping
pong took up most of the after-
noon but “volley ball in the
rain” was the highlight of the
day—and a good time was had
by all!
