Robert III of Taylor were Thanks-
giving visitors in Elgin guests of
their parents.
Elgin friends of Mr. R. R. (Bob)
Sapp, Bastrop, will regret to learn of
his sudden death which occurred Sat-
urday morning at his home from the
effects of a heart attack. Funeral
was held in McDade Sunday after-
noon with burial in McDade ceme-
tery.
Mr. and Mrs. John N. Swanson had
as their visitors this week-end Mr.
and Mrs. Axel Lindquist from Loui-
siana and Dr. and Mrs. W. R. Swan-
son and son of Taylor. Mr. Lind-
quist is a nephew of Mrs. ISwanson.
Miss Libbie Dusek and Miss Anna
Lora Mueller of Giddings, spent the
week-end in Houston.
Miss Genevieve McNeilly of Friend-
ship enjoyed the Thanksgiving holi-
day season here with her parents,
the Rev, and Mrs. G. M. McNeilly.

Elgin friends of Rob Goode, now of .
Bastrop, who lived here several
months this year, will be interested
in learning he went on a deer hunt :
with a party from Bastrop recently, ,
up in the Fredricksburg vicinity, and
came back with a 7-point buck he
killed. Rob is 12 years old and his 1
parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Go-
ode, who were connected with The
Courier, while living in Elgin.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. J. Poth, Miss
Josephine Pettit and Mr. Ogletree
were in Austin Monday evening to
hear Miss Evelyn Oppenheimer,
famous young review artist of the
Southwest, who was presented by the
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Zitelman were
week-end visitors in Brady, guests
of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. C.
Evers.
Kenneth Moore, Jimmie Ivy and
Eugene Ridings enjoyed the Texas-
A. & M. game Thursday in College
Station.
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. O’Connor and
sons were week-end visitors with
Mrs. O’Connor’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Boggan at Kingsville.
Miss Maude Hall of Gladewater,
was the Thanksgiving and week-end
guest of her sister, Mrs. Wilbur
Meier and Mr. Meier.

Messrs Sam Dunbar, Harry Taylor
and Jack Fowler, left last Wednes-
day for a hunt near Comfort, and
were joined Friday by Mrs. Taylor
and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Pfeiffer.
The entire party returned to Elgin
at the week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Westbrook,
daughter Oneita, and houseguest,
Mary Jean Joiner of Gladewater, and
Albert Joiner of McDade were guests
Thanksgiving Day of Mr. and Mrs.
Ira Drousche, in Austin.
Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Bailey son and
daughter, Bethea and Faye, of Robs-
town are guests of their mothers,
Mesdames Daisy Snowden and P. G.
Bailey. They were accompanied to
Elgin by Mrs. Granville Bailey who
visited with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. D. House and other rela-
tives.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Carter attended
the Texas-A. & M. game at College
Station Thanksgiving Day and spent
the week-end in Boling, Texas, guests
of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Carter and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Conner were
guests Thanksgiving of Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin Foehner at Marshall Ford Dam
and were accompanied home by little
Juanita Foehner for a visit.
Milton Dusek of S. W. T. S. T. C.,
San Marcos, spent Thanksgiving and
the week-end here with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dusek.
Mr. Norris Cottle visited with his
father at Harper, over the week-end.
Visitors in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Ward over the week-end
were Mrs. Dora Steer of Dallas, Mes-
srs W. B. Byars and Ernest Lee
Ward, of Bishop.
Miss Margaret Bloebaum of Corpus

days in Elgin with his aunt, Mrs. N.
H. Burns, and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar O’Connor and
sons, Joseph, Charles and Donald,
went to Kingsville for the week-end
to visit Mrs. O’Connor's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Boggan. En-
route home they spent several hours
at Brackenridge Park in San Anto-
nio.

Mrs. Bettie Wesson returned
home this week from several weeks
visit with her daughter and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reeves, and Jac-
quelyn and Edward Benton. She
also visited another daughter, Miss
Lena Wesson, while in Austin.
Mr. Pat Gipson of Houston and
sister, Mrs. Will Cavinaugh, of Mon-
terey, Mexico; were Sunday guests
of Mrs. Mabel Ebarb.
Miss Louise Condron, accompani-
ed by a group of Austin friends, at-
tended the A.- & M.-Texas football
game at College Station Thanksgiv-
ing Day.
R. E. Standifer, Bastrop, was a
business visitor in Elgin Monday
afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beard have
moved from the Mrs. T. D. Robin-
son apartment into the Fleet Taylor
home. Mr. Beard is connected with
the T. P. U. and they have only re-
cently come to Elgin to make their
home.
M. A. Burleson returned Tuesday
following a several day’s visit at the
bedside of his sister, Mrs. Bladen
Ramsey, of Pecos, Texas, who has
been quite ill. We are glad to re-
port. she was better when Mr. Burle-
son left.
Little Miss Sadie Marie Callahan
of Austin, spent Wednesday night
and Thanksgiving Day here with her
mother, Mrs. iSadie Callahan.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Brown were
visitors in San Antonio Sunday.
They were accompanied by Mrs.
Jessie Meeks, of Hempstead, their
house guest for the past week.
