City Council Thursday night that Un-
ited Way funding for her agency in
1990 will fall short of the amount she
requested.
Brown said it will take $106,300 to
maintain services at their current
level during 1990. She requested
$55,000 from the United Way, and
has been informed that ACO will re-

LIBRARY ACCREDITED: The
Allen Public Library was recently
accredited for another year as a mem-
ber of the Texas Library System. The
library had to meet strict criteria to
have the state accreditation renewed.
For details, see “At the Library” on
page 3A.
WEATHER: The temperature drop-
ped to 31 degrees at 7 a.m. ’Friday
morning, according to local weather
watcher Big Daddy Summers. That
morning’s freezing temperature was
accompanied by a light snow and a little
sleet, but not enough to measure, he
said. Temperatures on Thursday were
48 degrees at 7 a.m. and 45 degrees at
3 p.m. Big Daddy says he expected this
morning’s temperature to be as low as
28 degrees.
FORECAST: Saturday — Fair and
warmer. High in the lower 60s. Sunday
through Tuesday — Partly cloudy and
mild Sunday. Colder Monday and Tues-
day. Highs in the 60s Sunday, then cool-
ing to the 50s Monday and Tuesday.
Lows in the lower 30s.
