week. They were honored with
a visit from Paul Horst, Presi-
dent of Mode O’ Day, from
Burbank Calif., along with Cecil
Craig, Vice President and Ron
Diharce, Supervisor.
Mr. Horst was highly im-
pressed with the neatness,
arrangement and management
of Mode O’ Day #714.
The group also visited various
other stores in Liveoak Shop-
ping Center and commented
that the center is a great asset
to the community.

Mrs. Herbert Voges, nee Olga
Seewald, of Comfort, Texas
passed away on February 8,
1978 at the age of 68 years.
Funeral services were held on
February 10 in the chapel of the
Schaetter Funeral Home in
Comfort with Rev. R. J.
Huebner officiating. Interment
was in the Boerne Cemetery.
Mrs. Voges is survived by her
son, Curtis E. Voges of
Comfort; two grandchildren,
Jan Marie and Rachel Dianne
Voges, both of Comfort; two
sisters, Mrs. Max Rust of
Comfort and Mrs. Frank .
Woeller of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by

Mr. Joe Coughran of Pleasan-
ton, a former Boerne resident
well known by many of the “old
timers,” passed away Feb. 20,
1978 at age 82.
Services were held Feb. 21 at
First United Methodist Church
in Pleasanton.
Mr. Coughran was a resident
of Boerne and held the distri-
butorship for Sinclair Oil Com-
pany for over 30 years until his
retirement 15 years ago when
he sold out to Mr. Thomas
Havard. Born in Floresville,
Mr. Coughran moved to Boerne
and purchased the distributor-
ship about 1934 when it was
known as the “Old Pierce Oil
Company.” His territory
included all of Kendall and
Bandera counties, most of
Blanco county, some of Comal
and small portions of Kerr and
Bexar counties. After Mr.
Havard purchased the distri-
butorship, about 1960, Sinclair -
merged with Arco and it
became Havard Oil Company.
Mr. Coughran is survived by a
daughter, Dorothy Harbordt of
San Antonio; 2 sons Joe Albert
Coughran Jr. of Tilden, Texas
and Ted Coughran of Argyle,
Texas; 12 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren.

entered rest on Feb. 17, 1978 at
Hill Top Nursing Home. She
was born in Karnes County,
Texas on May 4, 1887.
Funeral services were held at
Ebensberger Funeral Home on
Monday morning, Feb. 20, with
Rev. Claude Cagle officiating.
Pallbearers included Fred
Daley, Fred Schaub, Herman
Wilson, Glynn Teague, Ernest
Favor and David Lowen.
Mrs. Ziegler was a oU-year

and was a member of First
United Methodist Church. She
is survived by her daughter,
