PILOT POINT, Jan. 20—Mr and
Mrs. Rutherford Wright and Miss
Alene McKinney who were in Dal-
las Sunday afternoon were in an
automobile collision while returning
home near Cross Roads. Their car
was struck by a passing auto and
overturned into a ditch. Their car
was badly damaged. Mrs. Wright
suffered a few painful but minor
bruises. The others were not hurt.
Contest for Trips
Supt. J. L. Owens and W. H.
Jones, teachers of vocational agri-
culture in Pilot Point. In co-opera-
ton with the Denton county agent,
will give out rules and recommend
candidates for 42 free trips by farm
boys next summer w the Davis
mountains.
One boy from a F. F. A. group
and one from a 4-H club-from each
of 21, counties can become eligible.

AUBREY, Jan 20—The Meth-
odist W M & met Monday after-
noon with 11 members present. The
devotional was offered by Mrs. J
W. Cobb and prayer by Mrs. Broy-
les. A bustness session was held and
an outline of the year's work was
made.
The Baptist W M S. met at the
church Monday afternoon with 11
membprs present. Tha devoional
was offered by Mrs. J. H Lanford
and Rev Mr. Hodges led the Bible
lesson and closed with prayer. It
was decided to make a quilt for an
orphans' home.
The Christian W. M. S. met Mon-
day with eight members present. A
devotional was offered by Mrs. W.

George Bernard Shaw's latest play
"The Apple Cart,” which is to be
seen in the Teachers College audi-
torium next Friday night. The play
will come here from Dallas where
it will be presented -Chree umes.----
The play is in two acts and an
interlude and is given over to un
mercifully satirizing a British cab-
inet of 1860, placed in power by the
labor party The inefficiency -and
vanity nt the ministers are the tar-
?et of the author's lampooning, as
are those leaders ‘ of big business
who subsidize government officials
"The Apple Cart" was first staged
in Warsaw, Poland, In 1929 and
later took London. Berlin and Par-
is by storm. It came to New York
in February of last year. -where it
was presented by the Theatre Quild,
duplicating its continental success-
es.
Philadelphia. Battm4* Wash-
ington and Chicago then paid trib-
ute to the play and its author and
last fall Los Angela and San Fran-
cisco fell into \ line with record-
breaking audiences in both cities
for a several weeks' run.
•The Apple Cart" comes to Den-
ton through special arrangement
with the New York Theater Guild.
The play has been given an elab-
orate production with an all-Eng:

British actor, Boyd Irwin, support-
ed by Chappel Dossett, Lyla Leslie.

sional Womens Club Tuesday eve-
ning at the American Cafe. and

Minor’s talk, and he told of the fi-
nancial condition of the country
This subject was chosen in observa-
tion of National Legislation Week

gram chairman at the next meeting,
when the valentine season will be

Honolulu's most recent critic—the
Kentucky legislature—was excoriat-
ed in the Hawaiian senate yester-
day for proposing presidential in-I
terference in the prosecution of
her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Massie.
Mrs. Fortescue and of the four re-
maining men accused of assaulting
Mrs. Fortescue and Lieutenant
Massie. U. 8. N., are held as the
slayers of the fifth of Mr Mas-
sie’s suspected assailants, Joseph
Kahahawai, Hawaiian.
A resolution of the Kentucky leg-
islature had urged President Hoo-
ver to use his authority to obtain
conviction of Mrs. Massie's alleged
attackers and the release of those
accused of killing Kahahawai. Fail-
ing that, the Kentucky resolution
asked that the president declare
martial law in Hawaii.
The demand for speed in the
prosecution at Mrs. Fortescue and
her co-defendants was coupled with
a statement by Montgomery Winn,
defense attorney, that the Wash-
ington and New York society ma-
tron is still so nervous she "can not
carry on a long conversation with-
out breaking into tears".

PILOT POINT, Jan 20—The
Methodist Women’s Missionary So-
ciety met Monday afternoon. Mrs
Bess Whitley led the devotional.
Mrs. G R. Adkins of Denton, for-
mer member of the society, was a
guest and sang a solo. Mrs. L. W
Keith played the piano accompani-
ment. Silent meditation followed
and pledge cards were signed Rev.
N. W Oliver directed the study of
the first chapter of the new study
book. "Methodism and the World
Need" Twelve members and one
visitor were present. —
The Calvary Baptist Missionary
Society met with Mrs. Claude Las-
siter Monday. After reports were
heard, the study book of "Royal
Service" was begun. Eighteen mem-
bers and visitors were present.
