In a pretty home wedding Tues-
day evening at 7 o’clock, Miss Mary
Elizabeth Hughes, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. George Hughes of Mo-
Kinney. formerly of Denton. be-
came the bride of Armand O. Mc-
Kinney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
McKinney of McKinney. Rev. Char-
les W. Estes at Denton read the
ceremony and was assisted in the
service by Dr. E. O. Whitwell, Pres-
byterian minister of McKinney. The
home was attractively decorated.
The bride was attended by Miss
Alyne Locke, her cousin, and Mias
Eleanor Estes, maid of honor and
bridesmaid, both of Denton. Rob-
ert R Rutherford was best man
and Ridgell McKinney a grooms-
man. both of McKinney. Miss An-
na Lou Estes kept the bride’s reg-
ister. The bride wore heavy white
crepe and a veil of illusion held
in place with orange blossoms. Miss
Estes wore peacock blue crepe and
Miss Locke light blush pink crepe.
An informal reception was held
following the ceremony. The din-
ing table was laid with a Nor-
mandy lace cloth over pink taffeta,
centered with pink rosebuds and

Christian Endeavor retreat spon-
sored by the Young People’s Coun-
cil of C. K, which will open this
evening at 5 o’clock.- His subject
will be a Contacting Church and
