sustained a lacerated head, bruised
arm and silht chest injuries. Her
condition was not considered seri-
ous until the pneumonia developed

ful bruises and cuts, but escaped
without serious injury, when a car
in which she was riding to Childress
was struck and overturned by an-
other machine west of Quanah Wed-

Fifty-one students and members
of the faculty of the Teachers Col-
lege went to Dallas‘Wednesday night
to see two former students and
members ol the Dramatic Club of
the college appear to the Oak Cliff
Little Theater’s "Saturday’s Chil-
dren”. The leading role was taken
by Miss Alma Whitley and the oth-
er student who had a part was Miss
Claudine French.' Miss Whitley re-
ceived her degree at the college last
summer.
The trip was arranged by Mrs.
Myrtle Hardy of the college reading
faculty, who is director ot the Dra-
matic Club.
Roy Moore and Taylor Meredith
were named the sunshine fund com-
1 mittee and Mmes May Caddel afd
operated on at Baylor Hospital,
Dallas. Saturday, is reported to
be doing well. Dr. Hubbard went
to Dallas Thursday to visit her.

Methodist Church will meet for
a business session in the church
this evening at 7:30 o'clock, and
all members are urged to attend.
The choir of the First Method-
ist Church will meet this evening
at 7 30 o'clock.
The Teachers College freshman
class will hold a wiener roast this
evening from 5 to 8 o’clock in the
college recreation park.
Choir practice of the First Chris-
tian Choir, announced for this
evening, has been postponed to
tomorrow evening at 7:15 o’clock, it
is announced,
Sheriff G. C. Cockrell, painfully
hurt in an automobile accident last
week and who has been to the Den-
ton Hospital tor treatment, passed
a fairly quiet night and was rest-
ing easily Thursday morning. it was
reported. No complications have de-
veloped. James Mack of Pairview,
who suffered a broken jaw in the
accident, is much improved and has
returned home.--
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Av-
eritt of Pilot Point. Thursday morn-
ing. at the Denton Hospital, a son.
L. D. RIney sustained a fractured
leg Thursday morning while play-
ing baseball at the Senior High
School. Riney was taken to a phy-
siclan’s ome where an X-ray pic-
ture was taken and the leg set.
Mrs. J. C. Flannery of Celina,
who was injured here Saturday
atfernoon in an automobile acci-
dent, is to a serious condition at
C. H Enlow the program commit-
tee.
The meeting was opened with
singing in chorus "Let Others See
Jesus in You," and a devotional of-
fered by Mrs. R. C Garrison House-
hold hints were given in answer to
roll call. During the afternoon Mrs
Ed Meredith was surprised with a
birthday shower. The hostess served
a refreshment course ot sandwiches,
aneee and cake, carrying out the

days of influenza and bronchial
