College football in 1934 under sub-
stantially the same rules that ob-
tained last season was predicted
today by Fielding H. Yost. Univer-
sity of Michigan athletic director
as h« left to attend a meeting of
the National Football Rules Com-
mittee at Atlanta. Ga., next week.
- Yost said changes most frequent-
ly suggested to him involved al-
teration of the ruling which de-
crees a touchback following an in-
complete pass over the goal line
and a change to bring the ball in
18 yards instead of 10 after a play
out of bounds. He said some con-
sideration probably will be given
a rule providing the same protec-
tion for forward passers as now is
provided for kickers.

May Hill Girls’
Club Reorganized
The May Hill Girls' Home Dem-
onstration Club was reorganized
Thursday, bringing the total num-
ber of girls’ clubs in the county to
11, according to information from
the office" of Mrs. Edna W. Trigg,
county home demonstration agent
Officers ejected were: Misses
Marianna Hunter. president; Jewel
Lowry, vice president; Goldie Low-
ry. secretary; Marianna Hunter
yard demonstrator; Cleo Morgan'
garden demonstrator. There are 23
women’s clubs functioning- in the
county now. and all of these clubs
are beginning on their February
program.
Mrs. Trigg plans to meet all of
the girls' and women's clubs in
the county this month that she did
not meet in January. The yards
are being plotted and conferences
are being held with the demonstra-
tors in preparation of their Awork.
The Eaglet-Petrolia High game
slated to be played tonight at
Petrolia has been called off. Coach
Choe Sportsman said today, fol-
lowing receipt of a letter from Pe-
trolla saying they were unable to
fill the date because of the Clay
County cage meet which opens this
"eek-end.
The game was officially consid-
ered postponed, but it is not likte-
ly to be played this late in the
season and will probably be drop-
ped from the Eaglet schedule
One more game, remains on this
week’s ticket for the locals, that
here tomorrow when the Eaglets
meet an invasion of the Bardwell
High Cats.
The game will open a series of
seven this month, four here and
three on the road, closing the
freshmen's 1933-34 schedule.

Overwhelmed by a heavier and
more experienced squad, Coach
Dan McAlister's Denton Broncos
suffered their first heavy defeat of
the season Thursday night at
Athens when they went down be-
fore the Hornets 31 to 9.
Athens grabbed an early lead
and held it throughout, slipping
past Ilie Bronco defense fairly
well though depending on charity
tosses for over a third of their
tallies. On offense, the Bronco
strength did not develop and the
locais had trouble getting past the
guard of their taller'opponents.
Wright, with Denton's sole field
goal and a couple of free tosses
in the basket. led the Bronco
scorers with his three points. Cobb.
Athens forward. took high point
honors of the game with 12 points.
A return match willbe played
here Thursday night in the high
school gymnasium.

Associated Press Sports Writer,

new system inaugurated for this
year’s bi-weekly amateur-pro medal

Louis Nowlin. Elliott Hatch. Gor-

Members of the association are
happy over this new plan. They
are convinced it will stimulate keen-

members in the by-weeky tourna-

smaller cities because it will give
all club members a chance to play
with such prominent professionals
as Larry Nabholtz, Francis Schei-
