assigned them and continue as they
go into the auditorium. The 13 in-
dividual rooms will have Christmas
trees and programs that afternoon
just before school dismisses for the
holidays. Students will draw names
and exchange gifts.
The various clubs of the school
will have Chrstmas programs and
sing carols at the regular meeting
time Thursday The Boy Scout Club
is planning to distrabtue "pheer"
boxes to some of Denton's needy
before the holdalys.
The seventh and eighth grade art
classes taught by Msses Elzabeth
Turner and Martan Camp, 8. C. W.
practice teachers, have made Christ-
mas decorations tor the main en-
trance of the school building. The
decorations were made out of cello-
phane and black construction pa-
per. Tile work was done under the
supervision of Miss Ruth Mooers, of
the 8. C. W. faculty.

A large Christmas tree, with light-
ed candles held gifts for all mem-
bers of the club from the program
chairman, Mrs. Mary Sue Duston,
Mrs. Duston also made the individ-
ual place cards of mints with each
individual name on them in red and
green icing. She used potted poin-
settias to mark the speaker’s table.
The business session was presid-
ed over by the president, Mrs. Bess
McCullar, who announced that the
club had cleared $16 on" a recent
magazine subscription drive. Mrs.
Eugene Cook introduced the speak-
er and also presented birthday gifts
to Misses Genella Lewis and Beu-
lah Ellis. Dr. Rebecca M. Evans act-
ed as Santa Claus and distributed
the gifts to members and. guests.
A collection of clothing and toys
and a cash offering of 2250 was
turned over to Mrs Cook, to be used

Baptist Church met with its presi-
dent. Miss Margaret Yeary, Tues-
day evening, and during a business
session voted to co-operate with the
Ray Buster Chapter of Y. W A.
in a Christmas tree for 30 of the
city’s children on Christmas Eve. In
the home of the pastor and his wife,
Rev. and Mrs. J. D. Grey.
Games and a social hour were
enjoyed after business was trans-

tional leader was Mrs A. L Faw.
The lesson was based on‘the 133rd
and the 136th Psalms. Eleven visits
to sick were reported. Eight mem-
bers answered roll call by quoting
verses of Scripture. The closing
prayer was said by Mrs. G. L. Rob-
erts.

Leake led the lesson, The Shep-

financial pledge. The closing pray-

the topic, "Giving." Twelve mem-

afternoon before school dismisses

they are able to bring gifts to ex-

The home economics depart-
ment of the Shakespeare Club
will meet at 3 p. m. with Mrs.
A. G. Koenig, 1019 Congress,
and Mrs. C. L. Oliver.
The Euzelian Class of the
First Baptist Church will meet
at 3 p. m. in the church and
will have a Christmas tree and
gifts for members and children.
