Hodge launched in the second pe-
riod, to haul the East Texans up
rapidly by long and middle-distance
shots.
It was a contest peppered with
fouls. and that was a major item in
the locals' defeat They lost Tur-
ner early in the game by that route,
and lost Wright‘toward the middle
of the second half. Loss of the two
markedly affected the North Texas
floor play.
In a hectic opening half that saw
the score tied six times. Hawk.
Wright and Turner had paced the
Denton eagers to a 19-15 lead. Then
in the socond period McKee and
Hodge found the range and yanked
the visitors up to knot the count
at 21-an, then forged ahead. '
McKee High roant
Preston, Denton sophomore guard,
provided a highlight of the game
with a polished defensive perform-
ance. McKee’s 13 points gave him
scoring honors, followed by Hawks

Mexican Oil
Companies Seek
Strike Damages
TAMPICO, Mexico. Jan. 16.—•
—Mexican oll companies set legal
machinery ih motion today to sue
their workers and recover damages
resulting from a 24-hour strike.
The companies decided to take
action against the strikers because
the walk out had been declared
illegal by a labor board of concilia-
tion.
Company oficalls said the em-
ployers lost a total of about 100,009
by the one-day stoppage.
In the meantime, the companies
also determined to stop payment of
wages and accumulations in work-
ers' saving funds pending return of
the strikers to their shops and of-
fices.
After idling for 24 hows M a
protest against the interruption of
discussions for a blanket labor con-
tract for the industry, the strikers
announced their decision" to re-
turn to work at 6 a. m. (9 a m.
Eastern Standard Tme> today.
An intra-union agreement paved
imation of the
strike. The Oil Workers Syndicate,
which called the atrike-ot 18,000,
consented to offer new terms to
