sity Women, said that the govern-
ment's changed policy in regard to
the intervention in the Latin-Amer-
I lean countries in the past few years
has brought the North American
| continent closer together than all
other efforts of the past 100 years.
He spoke well of the understand-
ing of Secretary of State Cordell
Hull. In his relations to the various
Latin-American countries and said
that President Roosevelt's "good
neighbor” policy is the best thing
I he has done. From being a country
that wanted only to dictate, the
United States has grown to feel the
wisdom of dealing with those coun-
tries as equals instead of inferiors,
and even the casual traveler in
those countries may sense the dif-
ference in attitude to this coun-
try. and a good political background
is being built up. he said There
should follow now. he added. gov-
ernment leadership in sending ex-
change teachers and graduate stu-
dents to the Latin-American coun-
tries to promote better cultural and

1/4 cup chopped fig*
1/4 cup chopped prune*
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
1 tablespoon orange juice
1/3 cup salad dressing
1/3 cup chopped peanuts
Chicory (or lettuce)
Cut bananas in half, lengthwise.
Mix figs with prunes, jam and juke
and use as filling for banana halves,
replacing them to represent whole
banana*. Roll the filled banana* in
some of the dressing and then in
the nuts. Arrange on chicory and top
with rest of dressing

3 tablespoon* butter
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspon paprika
1/3 teaspoon salt
3 cups cooked pea*
1 teaspoon chopped mint
Mix ingredient* and allow to sim-
mer for three minutes in a covered
pan. .

24 grapefruit sections
1/3 cup crumbled Roquefort cheese
Lettuce
1 3 cup French dressing
Take rind off of grapefruit. Care-
fully remove sections, discarding all
seeds and fibrous section*. Combine
