System of Pensions
FAIRPIELD, June A pension
system is the "enlightened and sci-
entine method" of dealing with the
problem of dependent old age. Wal-
ter Woodul declared here Tuesday
in epeaking on behalf of his candi-
dacy for attorney general. He urged
the pension plan as far more ad-
vanced than some other system or
"hit and miss" care of the aged.

Craw, will tring his gubernatorial
campaign to Denton and the sur-
rounding areas of Denton County
when he arrives here to be guest
of honor at a county wide rally
Friday night, July 8. This will be
McCraw's first visit to Denton in
his present campaign tour to pre-
sent personally his platform on
which he bases his candidacy for
the governorship.
The candidate will continue his
policy of confining his talks to tan-
gible issues and refrain from dis-
cussing other personalities in the
governor's race, his announcement
stated.

Denton people who answered the
“Checkers” contest challenge at the
Texas Theater and Record-Chron-
icle, inviting readers of the paper
and show patrons to a spelling
contest, poured 334 entry letters in
before the deadline, which Texas
Theater officials point to as a new
high record for any movie contest
in this city. •
Winner of the grand prize, three-
month pass to the Texas, was Mrs.
O. H. Hancock, whose entry was
judged the neatest correct answer
in the mis-spelling correction com-
petition.

nounced today by the theatre as
other winners who may call at the
Texas box-office and receive a
pass to see Jane Withers in “Check-
ers”:
