In the other games, Bellville
plays Tomball in a battle for
second. Both are hoping Sealy
will knock off Klein, so one
can get a share of the title. So
both will be battling it out. In
this one I take Bellville 14-6
over Tomball. Katy and Spring
wind up the season in a battle
of losers. In this one I take
Katy 12-6 over Spring. Well
the season has come to a close
for most teams after Friday,
with the district champs of
each league moving into the
playoffs. Congratulations to
Klein for winning the district.
I’m sure they will make our
district look good in the play
offs. Next week I’ll have the
final wrap up on the district.
Now lets look at them in the
last week of play for most
teams.

the season comes to a close.

Well, things have changed a
little. The Tigers have won a
ball game. The Tigers finally
made some changes and it paid
off as the Tigers rolled over
Katy 25-0. One thing wrong,
the Tigers changed their line
I up six weeks too late. But they
always can wait till next sea-
l son. Now let’s get back to this
I week. The Klein Bearkats
move in. Klein has already
I wrapped up the district, that
is, they will represent the dis-
I trict in the playoffs. Last week
I Klein beat Tomball 6-0 to take
| the honors. Its still a possi-
l bility of a tie. That is, if Sealy
I beats Klein. There would be a
I tie between either Tomball or
I Bellville for first place with
I Klein. But Klein will advance
I to the playoffs. They will eith-
I er play Bastrop or Smithville
in bi-district. It’s all up to
I Sealy to throw a tee into the
race. If Klein beats Sealy they
take all the honors. Klein
I brings in a real fine team
with a 8-0-1 record and
. they have shut out every dis-
trict team so far. Klein has
given up only 13 points all sea-
son so they have a fine defense
! also. This is Sealys last game
। of the season. Sealy hasn’t won
. a home game this season. A lot
, of seniors will be playing their
last game for the Tigers. In
this one I will ride with Klein.
’ I call it 18-0 over Sealy.

touchdown when Hooker cir-
cled right end from 16 yards
out. The P. A. T. attempt fail-
ed and the score was knotted
at 6-all.
The Tigers cranked up one
more drive in the fading mom-
ents of the game and had
worked the ball down to the
Katy 8-yard line when the fi-
nal gun sounded.
George Tepera, Richard
Kudlacek, Donald Garling, and
Larry Hintz again showed up
real good on defense along
with players mentioned ear-
lier, most of whom went both
ways.
The B-Team Tigers end their
season in Klein on Thursday
night at 7:30. Watching them
play this year has been a real
pleasure and enough cannot be
mid for them when it comes to
fire and desire.

Katy Fellers Turn
Sealy Tide Thursday
by F. J. Krampitz, Jr.
Many sports veterans agree
that the more times you travel
trouble-free down the road of
Competition, the more you
have to figure on the proba-
bility of something happening
■round the next turn.
Up until Thursday night, the
Sealy B-Team Tigers had been
sailing along all by themselv-
■a on a six lane super high-
way but when they made the
turn into Katy, the pavement
ended, four tires went flat, and
their smooth running engine
suddenly threw a rod.
What this means is that the
B-Boys saved all their mis-
takes for the Katy game. For-
tunately they didn’t lose their
cool and in the end were able
to salvage a 6-6 tie.
The backfield combination
of Vicenik, Boehm, Janda, and
Glenn Anderson had trouble
keeping their machine going,
and it wasn’t until the begin-
ning of the second period that
they were able to mount a sus-
tained drive and score.
Starting on their own 44-
yard line, the Tigers put to-
gether 10 running plays and a
pass, Vicenik to Burttschell, to
gain a first down on the Katy
2%-yard line. On the first play
from scrimmage, Boehm
cracked over the left side
through a hole in the Katy line
provided by Tom Michaelis,
Danny Zapalac, and David
Hintz.
An alert Katy defender di-
agnosed the extra point try
and downed Vicenik before he
could get his quarterback keep-
er play going, so they had to
