When you receive unordered
merchandise through the mails
do you know your legal rights?
A law passed by the Sixty-
first Texas Legislature in 1969
provides that where unsolicited
goods are delivered to a per-
son, he has the right to refuse
to accept delivery of the goods
and he is not bound to return
the goods to the sender.
If such unsolicited goods are
either addressed to or intended
for the recipient, they shall be
deemed a gift and the recipient
may use them or dispose of
them in any manner without
any obligation to the sender.
There are three exceptions
to this law-first, when the goods

er, were honored with a re-
ception at the American Legion
Hall on Sunday, December 26,
on the occasion of their Sixtieth
Wedding Anniversary.
Hostess for the event was
their daughter, Mrs. Paul Pet-
itfils, assisted by the couple’s
nieces and nephews.
The serving table was cov-
ered in pink satin with anover-
lay of ny lon net and was cen-
tered with a pink bowl con-
taining an arrangement of pink
carnations and baby’s breath.
A pink taper was ensc ribed
with "Millard and Maggie -
1911-1971”. The three tiered
white cake was adorned with
pink flowers and topped with
white satin bells and imitation
diamond rings. The cake and
frosted punch were served from
a cake stand and punch bowl the
couple have had for sixty years.
Friends and relatives calling
between the hours of two and
four o’clock registered in a
book the couple had sixty years
placed on a table laid in pink
with net overlay . Pink candles
provided illumination for the
registry.
The couple’s granddaughter,
Mrs. Margaret Lai Freeman,
and great granddaughters,

were unable to attend the event.
