Baker ond Bryant caused key
interceptions lost week by get-
ting up in Bradley's face and
either deflecting the ball or
causing the Kilgore quorterback
to throw off balance.
Ends Chris Medlin and Rodney
Russell were very active in the
contest, Medlin picking off one
pass, Russell batting two more
down. McLemore and Simonson
had the other interceptions.
Back Todd Bogenschutz won
praise from Reynolds for his con-
tinued good play and the other
backs, Fonta Castleberry and
ond six tackles, respectively.

Athens the kids caught a lot of
flak, especially at school, but
they've responded by coming
together, they're awfully close,

The 1905 football season
began and ended on sour notes
for the Elysian Fields High School
Yellowjockets but in between
they had a better year than a
whole lot of schools could
muster
With an opening gome
scoreless tie against Spring Hill
and a 17-6 loss to New Diana for
the first two games of the year
a 21-7 bi-district loss to Winona
for the last gome of the year and
a 35-0 shellacking at the hands
of the Tatum Too-Toughs in the
middle EFHS wound up with a
still respectable 7-3-1' season
fight shortened embarrassment while Bob Powell had 487 yards
of Shelbyville. on 97 runs and Reggie Jones

Ruffin or Mike Castleberry con
run to daylight. Jones has 1,150
yards, Baffin B67, Castleberry
428 rushing and 473 passing.
It should be noted, however,
that Carthage's best passing
game in some time was a four
off our effort by Castleberry lost
week against Kilgore for big
key 93 yards.
Perhaps all phases of its game
are peaking at the right moment
for Carthoge.
Neither team is ranked in the
Harris Rating Top 10, but at the
end of regular season, Carthage
had attained the No. 13 spot
behind Kilgore and hos settled
that question
Corsicana remains in the Top
10 despite the loss to McKinney,
which raised stock in the Lions,
no doubt.
We ployed as good a gome as
wo have all season, especially
on defense," Poe said.
"They have a big end (Michael
Moore) who is a good football
player," Reynolds lauds.
Carthage has many excellent
defenders who can keep th*
pressure on a quarterback. In- gg —gg - rr”
