. CoiESstiox POETCAL. The recent
action of the Electoral College of this
State in selecting Robert Josselyn as their
messenger to Washington is suggestive.
Josslyn was Private Secretary of Jeff.
Davis when lie was President of the
Southern Confederacy, and afterwards
was commissiond by Jeff. as Secretary
of State of Arizona, under Got. John
Baylor, but was prevented from enjoying
his office by reason of Gen. Canby's in-
terference j his selection as Presidential
messenger at this time can be regarded
in the light of poetical compensation.
He can now'consider himself even with
the United States Government and once
more enjoy the fragrance of Wentherford
unions. __..goe_____ ■ --
