that we have the means at our command of
negotiating the proposed new loan tor tin
amount of two millions in gold, at a good
price, provided the Honorable Legislature
now in sessionwill pass a bill which shal
cover the following sections, and such others
as that Honorable body may see proper to
introduce, to make the ll more perfect :
1. The State shonk compromise the claim
of the International Railroad for six millions
bonds subsidy, ami the claim of the South-
ern Pacific for a like subsidy of six millions,
as well as any and all other bons voted to
railroads.
2. The new loan, after allowing for dis-
count, should he eflieient in amount to take
up and cancel every other form of indebted-
ness.

ocratic ambition two months time has

enormous expense.
