candidate to fill the vacancy in the Leg-
islature, caused by the death of Ln-' s
nal on Monday. That is, that Capt.
Williams entered. with several poice,
the Lampasas Saloon, and attempted to
arrest one Bill Bowen for carrying a six-
shooter; that there were a nmmber of
persons present, pincipally Bowen’s
