A middle-aged, but no less
agile Douglas Fairbanks cuts his
characteristic monkeyshines in
"The Gaucho."
This newest film from. the
leisurely operated Fairbanks stu-
dio was shown to newspsper men
and women in the private preview
booth of the Worth Theater, Tues-
day afternoon. It will be shown
to the public at the Worth start-
ing Saturday.
Eve Southern, former Fort
Worth girl, plays sn Important
part in the picture. The setting
is a South American city which
falls alternately into the hands of
“The Osucbo," famous bandit, and
Ruts, the country's despot.
High spot of the film comes
when Doug and his band recap-
ture “The City of the Miracle”
end rout troops that outnumber
them ten to one by stampeding
an enormous herd of cattle thru
the city gates.

Play. Presented By Guild of New
Y ork, Here Only One Night.
“The Guardsman," presented by
the Theater Guild of New York
City, at the Central High. School
Auditorium Tuesday night, was
good enough that those who saw
the play watched the curtain drop
with somiething akin to sorrow
that the piece was not to be held
on a second night.
The company, beaded by
George Gaul and Florence El-
dridge. contained some of the best
talent seen in Fort Worth.
Due to a clash, earlier in the
day with the stage empoyes’ un-
ion, members of the Little Thea-
ter stage crew, aided and abetted
by high school students, pinch-
bitted in handling the sets, Mrs.
John F. Lyons, 'under whose aus-
pices the company was brought to
Fort Worth, explained between
acts.
A crowd that almost filled the
auditorium enjoyed the ingenious
Molnar plot of a husband who
masquerades as a Russian Guard
to test his wife’s fidelity.
