Burchman, a restaurant own-
er here, was known as "Den-
ver Blackie," and was kidnaped
by a band of rum runners. He
was supposed to have been tied
hand and foot and left desert-
ed somewhere on the prairie
■ west of here, while posses were
bunting him in two States.
Officials here say Burchman
is still In town and has not
been out of town for more
than two hours in a week.
Two men who were supposed
to have attempted to kidnap
him are being held in Jail, but
the story of the haif-miilion-
dollar liquor shipment and kid-
naping they term as "mere or
