MANDA, Mar. 13— Mr. and
Mrs Carl Swenson went to Shreve-
port, Louisiana Saturday (to spend
the week-end with Mrs. Swenson’s
sisters, Mrs. Clyde Lightfoot and
Wynona and Miss Ada Sandeen.
Mr. and Mrs. Swenson are leaving
for Sweden the first of April.
Mrs. J. F. Karling and Mrs Dee
Waine Kinchbe and Bobby spent
Friday visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
K. H. Eklund and also visited Mr.
and Mrs. Axel Zahr.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Swanberg

hear a trackman say that he has
eaten dust, then you know he
must have been plodding behind
the flying heels of Bobcat speed-
ster and track captain, Gregg
Lewis, senior Southwest Texas
State student.
The ruddy-faced red head, who
sprang into the world 22 years
ior and a major in Ag. and minor
in P. E.
A popular man on the Hill,
Gregg was elected Gaillardian Es-
cort this past fall, and his figure,
sporting a rough and ready hat,
a pair of levis and loafer shoes
is easily recognized on the Col-
lege Quad.
Calling Elgin his home town,
Gregg, better known as Red, post-
ed quite a record in high school
athletics. While at Elgin High,
Red was a three letterman in foot-
ball and hung up an equal number
in track.
Gregg has an impressive athle-
ments were served to, Mr and Mrs Mrs. Georgia Nelle and family,

and punch to about 30 guests.
“Happy Birthday” was sung by
all. Everyone had a nice time and
wished Mr. Swanberg many more
happy returns of the day.
Miss Agnes Tholine spent the
week-end at home.

Maxie Marosko 8 Years Old
Maxie Marosko was 8 years old
Saturday so his mother honored
him with a birthday party at her
home. The refreshment course,
table decorations and the plate fa-
vors featured the Easter theme.
Potted plants and cut flowers
were used in the reception rooms.
Various games were enjoyed be-
fore the guests were invited in for
refreshments. Invited were Virg-
inia Dagerath, Kaye Kreidel,
Butch, Wayne, David, Carol and
Michael Ging, Glenda Otto, Bar-
bara Pfluger, Sonny and Marilyn
Guenther, Sandra and Freddie
