Following the close of the Fair,
indications are that everyone is settl-

We had a few compliments from the
men on all of the extra work they got
from the company and we were suc-
cessful in getting a satisfactory settle-
ment.
On October 12, the secretary and one
of the board members from the Ama-
rillo local came to Dallas and visited
with ua. We were happy to show him
throughout Texaa will pay a six per-
cent dividend annually on a 112 a share

One of the compliments that organ-
tied labor runs into from management,
came our way on the 17th. The vice
president of the Dallas Railway &
Transit Company called to Inform us
that we would have to pull the Steven-
son buttons ott our uniforms, that we
were not permitted to take a part in
the election while on duty Alter some
discussion with the officials of the
company, we convinced them that we
would wear the buttons and that we
felt as long as we have our present
democratic form of government that
we will still live in a free country
where one is able to talk, act and
wear what be pleases, so long as it
does not Infringe upon the employer’s
rights.
I gave my report to the membership
on the outcome of this complaint.
Tuesday, October 21 and they were
very happy that we still live in a tree
country and can wear any button that
we choose.
We also took setion at the meeting
to purchase 400 shares In the partici-
pating preferred stock of the In-
surance Company of Texas discount
corporation It was highly approved
by the membership.
We urged aH of our members to elec-
