The following ordinance was passed at a meet-
ing of the City Gouncil, March 11, 1870
lie it ordained by the City Cyuneil of the
city of Austin, That Section 1 of Article 244.
city ordinaces, he and is hereby repealed and
the following substituted in its place, viz:
AarILE Section 1. Beit ordained,
&e. , That no building or part of a building
shall hereafter be erected upon ady lot or part
of a lot fronting on Congre • avenue, city of
Austin, unless the outer walk of the same
slud l lie constructed of rock, brick, concrete,
or east iron; and the roof of the mine shall be
ol slate, metal, or other fire proof subutance.
SEcrtos 2. The City Council, upon being
informed that any peton k erecting a build-
ing in violation of this ordrnce, shall forth-
with require the City Matshall to raze the
same, which officer ehall /execute raid order,
and collect the expense incident thereto from
the perpon owning or erecting the name.
