Center vehicle in the parking lot.
Anyone between 17 and 72 years
old, who weighs at least 110
pounds and is in good general
health is encouraged to donate
blood at this drive, which is open to
the community.
All donors must show proper
identification, including the donor’s
name and one of the following:
date of birth. Social Security Num-
ber or photo identification.

review the discrepancy between the
prices paid to packers for cattle and
those paid to the meat packers by
retailers.

Building permits made a sharp
increase in January when compared
to a year earlier. Newly appointed
building inspector Walter Gawlik
reported there were 38 permits
issued totalling $223,781 compared
to last year’s total of $45,117.
Permits issued last month in-
cluded 18 reroofing projects for
$81,650, 16 residential remodeling
projects for $46,000, one new
home for $65,(XX) and four com-
mercial remodeling projects for
$17,(XX).
Some of the larger permits
issued included a new home for
Doug Flessner, 106 Crockett,
$65,000; reroof for Oscar Scott
Foundation on Sarah St, $42,290;
residential remodeling for Wayne
Adickes, 1010 N. Gonzales,
$15,000; and new garage for Ray
Jett, 305 E. Newman, $ 14,000.
Other permits issued included
