Relieve a stiff neck by wearing a soft cervical collar
for 48 hours. Or roll up a turkish towel and fasten it around
your neck with a pin.
A heating pad or a hot-water bottle and aspirin, ac-
etaminophen, or ibuprofen will help ease the discomfort
of a stiff neck.
When a stiff neck is accompanied by fever, nausea,
headache, pain radiating into the arm, or weakness or
numbness in the head, see your doctor. And, of course, see
your doctor about neck pain that results from injury.
f
Dr. Chaput will be seeing
patients with brain, spine and
back disorders the first and
third Friday mornings of
every month

King & Queen...
William Filip and Pearl Johnson were crowned Valentine King
and Queen 1996 of Retama Manor West amidst music and
dancing, smiles and laughter at the Valentine's Day party
hosted by Retama West. The music was provided by accor-
dion and keyboard player, Bobby Joe Bulgerin, as he sang
such old favorites as Corinne, Corinna and San Antonio
Road and finished with The Chicken Dance. Friendly faces,
good food and red and white balloons were everywhere as
residents, staff and visitors celebrated the special day.

THOUGHTS FROM THE CREEK BANK
By Howard Pierce
My wife’s old white dog, Tiffany, has been a blessing around the
place. If she’s nothing else, Tiffy is a certified snake handler. She
hates all snakes, especially copperheads. Late one evening, she was
barking liKe crazy, and I felt sure she had a snake in the grass. I got
a stick and began poking around. Sure enough, a little head
appeared. Then a little leg and foot appeared. “Whoa!” says wise
old me, “snakes don't have legs and feet." I'm sure that Tiffy was
sincere when she told me it was a snake, but she was wrong.
Us folks often equate sincerity with correctness. This proclivity
is most often noticed when religion is the issue. “It doesn’t matter
what you believe, as long as you are sincere," is something we
frequently hear. O. sweet folks, it makes all the difference in the
world what you believe! Many earnest-hearted people are sincerely
wrong about what it takes to get to Heaven. God declares emphatic-
ally that Jesus Christ in the only hope man has of ever even seeing
Heaven. Are you trusting entirely in Him as your only hope of
Heaven.’ Invite Him into your heart right now!
