Special Department to Be Opened
Monday at Wholesale Plant
The Nash Hardware Company,
Friday announced the opening of
a special retail bargain depart-
ment on the ground floor of the
wholesale building at Jones and
Eighth Streets. Many lines of
hardware at special prices will be
offered in the new establishment.
The formal opening will be held
Monday, May 18. Souvenirs will
be given.
The unusual idea employed in
this department is that all goods
are displayed and priced in plain
figures in order that customers
may make their own selections.
The company has arranged for
one-hour parking privileges
around the Nash building, which
makes it convenient for custo-
mers to park while making pur-
chases. It is the idea of the com-
pany to offer something out-
standing at special prices each
week. The department is unusu-

To be a successful nurse is to
be an expert reader of human
nature, is the belief of C. A.
Gardner, principal of North Side
Hinh School.
The nurse must know how to
cure our mental as well as phy-

convention here Friday.
Gardner spoke on. Nursing
Education from the Viewpoint of
a Lay Person. He spoke before
the session devoted to the League
of Nursing Education.
"Many of our His are only

Amarillo Man Will Succeed Dr. J.

By United Press.
HOUSTON, May 15.—Dr. K. L.
Rogers of Amarillo was chosen
president-elect of the Stat Dental
Society in convention here today.
Dr. J. P. Arnold of Houston was
installed as president to succeed
Dr. Tom F. Coyle of Orange. Dr.
Rogers will take office next year.
Dr. C. G. Kirkpatrick of Mar-
shall was elected to fill the vacan-
cy in the executive committee for
the next three years. Three dele-
gates were named to represent
Texas at the American Dental As-
sociation meet at Memphis in Oc-
tober, Dr. Trim Houston, Corsi-
Allen: "The people are going
to vote overwhelmingly for the
municipal gas plan because, it
is the only way to get relief
from our present high gas
rates. I believe the people
have the utmost confidence in
Mr. Monnig (William Monntg,
chairman of the City Council
As committee) and the other
councilmen who are spending
so much time in working out
a proposition to give us lower
rates. We will show how
strongly -we want a fair gas
proposition at the election in
June or July."
