NEW YORK, May 25.—Harry Stein and Samuel Green-
berg were indicted by the Bronx County grand jury today
in connection with the murder of Vivian Gordon, strangled
vice trial witness.
The indictments charged first degree murder.
The indictments followed the confession of Harry
Schlitten, alias Harvey, a chauffeur, that he drove the
auto in which Vivian Gordon rode to her death. He named
Stein as the actual killer and Greenberg as his aide.

army air maneuvers as a "war-
like gesture” and an enemy of
peace, F. Trubee Davison. assist-
ant secretary of war for aviation,

termed “insidious and false prop-
aganda” on the maneuvers, which
he said was spread by commun-
ists.
Speaking at the dedication of
Rentschler Field, East Hartford,
he denied statements the maneuv-
ers would cost taxpayers an ad-
ditional 13,000,000.
"It is a contemptable lie," said
Davison, "these maneuvers, which
are a part of the regular army ex-
ercises. are not costing an addi-
tional nickel.”
