provide a Christmas cheer basket
for all the families of the unem-
ployed Lone Star group, but each
plan was rejected by the attorneys.
In order to alleviate the bleak
Christmas sadness, we finely gave
the county officials in each of the
counties surrounding our plant a
sum of money to be used in any
way they saw fit to bring Christ-
mts cheer to unfortunate people in
their counties. We requested that
they keep the contributor’s name
a secret. So for as I know, this
they have dons. It was little
enough, butv it was something.
So Christmas, 1958, is Just a few
days off. Things are a little batter
this time, a little move like they
were in the good old days. Some,
just some, of the Christmas lights
have been turned on, and most
everybody will have food this thne.
On the surface, things appear to
be smoother, but the appearance
of a few lights isn't fooling any-
body. We all know that the tensions
are still working. The union isity-
ing to increase its popularity by
slapping everyone on the bask and
calling him “brother.” Toime,
brotherly love is something MBH
than back slapping from an organi-
zer whose wages are paid out of
members’ dues. I might suggest
that applied brotherly love could
be trying to get the ’cats to quit
making dirty remarks about the
loyal workers who remained- en
the job. It might be trying to im-
prove production on the part ri a
few strikers who still haven’t
learned the value of a good job. It
might be to quit waving that rid
