1 SUBCHAPTER A-1. TEMPORARY PROVISIONS
2 Sec. 8252.021. TEMPORARY DIRECTORS. (a) On or after
3 September 1, 2007, a person who owns land in the district may
4 petition the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to appoint
5 as temporary directors of the district the five persons listed in
6 the petition.
7 (b) The commission shall appoint as temporary directors the
8 persons listed in a petition received by the commission under
9 Subsection (a). If the commission receives more than one petition
10 for the district, the commission shall appoint the directors listed
11 in the first petition the commission receives.
12 (c) If a temporary director fails to qualify for office, the
13 commission shall appoint a person to fill the vacancy.
14 (d) Temporary directors serve until the earlier of:
15 (1) the date directors are elected under Section
16 8252.024; or
17 (2) the date this chapter expires under Section
18 8252.003.
19 Sec. 8252.022. ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING OF TEMPORARY
20 DIRECTORS. As soon as practicable after all the temporary
21 directors of the district have qualified under Section 49.055,
22 Water Code, the temporary directors of the district shall meet at a
23 location in the district agreeable to a majority of the directors of
24 the district. At the meeting, the temporary directors shall elect
25 officers from among the temporary directors and conduct any other
26 district business.
