Brenlin wears two or three times as long as an
ordinary window shade, because it is made with-
out chalk or clay “filling”—the cause of cracks and
pinholes in ordinary shades. The material, too, is
finer, stronger and more closely woven.
We have Brenlin in a wide variety of beautiful
colors. Let us show you how little it will cost to
shade your windows with Brenlin.
We will gladly make suggestions on how to
shade and decorate your windows correctly and
economically. ’Without obligation to you we will
also send a man to measure your windows And
estimate costs. Just ’phone today.

Some Pending Legislatlon
The Legislature is now considering
a bill which makes it the duty of the
county board of trustees to select the
ocunty superintendent. This bill does
not affect the counties having ex-offi-
clo superintendenta. It changes the
present. law in only two particulars:
It gives the county board of trustees
authority to elect the county superin-
tendent; It extends the term of office
of the present incumbent to June 30,
1931, and makes the regular term of
the county superintendent thereafter
to begin on July 1st of each odd num-
bered calendar year.
Every public school teacher in Tex-
as is elected by a board of trustees.
Every principal is elected by a board
of trustees. Every superintendent is
elected by a board of trustees except
the county superintendent. At pres-
ent 729,000 Texas children attend
schools under superintendents elected
by boards, while 010,000 are in rural
schools reporting to county superin-
tendents and county judges.
A constitutional change in the
method of selection of county super-
intendents of schools in Virginia goes
into full effect in 1929. Instead of
these county school officials being
elected by the state board of educa-
tion as heretofore, they will be elect-
ed by the county school boards from a
list of eligibles supplied by the state
board.
A bill ci eating a new state board of
education is now before the legisla-
ture. The people endorsed such an
amendment to the constitution in the
recent general election and thereby
approved the creation of a new board.
