in the feeders and is as efficient in

During the winter of 1929 Mi Bee-
ble and Mr. Eldridge put a lot of
money into circulation in their own
community by buying hogs. When
they had fattened a pen they trucked
them to the parking house at Little
Rock. They hauled back a supply of
rice by-product from their associa-
tion mills at Stuttgart or DeWitt and
bought more hogs.
In the winter of 1930 they had
branched out and their buying ex-
tended into adjoining counties and
other sections of the state. They had
also trucked some of their hogs to
the St. Louis market and most any
day on some highway leading to
Stuttgart one would meet that double
deck truck. He would know that
•‘Park and Beeble," as they are fa-
miliarly known locally, had been

hogs purchased were long of leg, ear.
snout and side.
The spring of 1931 found Messrs
Beeble and Eldridge with something
like 2000 head of hogs in their pas-
tures and pens. Down through the*
years these men have been strong
advocates of diversification and cot
ton rotation programs on their sepa-
rate farms.
