Elgin hosted its third annual
Empty Bowl, a fundraiser sup-
porting area organizations
who provide food to those in
need.
Empty Bowl features local
restaurants and caterers who
serve their soups to attendees.
This year’s restaurants were
Jalisco’s Mexican Restaurant,
Southside Market & Barbeque,
Meyer’s Elgin Smokehouse, the
Roadhouse in Paige and Blessed
Kitchen in Bastrop. Attendees
also took home hand-decorated
soup bowls and had an oppor-
tunity to bid for items in a silent
auction.
