Schulenburg Festival
TheSchulenburg Festival will be held Thursday thru Sunday, Aug. 5-8
at Wolters Park. Pre-festival activities on Thursday, Aug. 5 will include
the carnival, music by Southbound 955 and rodeo slack.
Continuous live music all weekend will feature Little Texas, Kolby
Cooper, Shane Smith & Saints, Texas Unlimited Band, The Telstars,
Tracy & Resendis, Pauline Reese and Texas Sundown Band.
The carnival will continue during the weekend. Other activities will
include chili and barbecue cookoffs, parade on Sunday (downtown
Schulenburg), arts/crafts,fun run, softball, basketball, golf, kiddie parade
and tricycle races.

Schulenburg Festival Carnival
The Festival carnival,sponsored bytheLionsClubandfeaturing rides,
games and food, will be held Aug. 5-8, with armband specials.
The carnival hours and costs are:Thursday, Aug. 5,family night, 5 to 10
p.m., $15; Friday and Saturday, Aug. 6-7,5 to 11 p.m., $25; and Sunday,
Aug. 8, noon to 5 p.m., $25.
Early Childhood Screening
Early childhood screening for children ages 3-4 who have significant
learning and communication delays and who live in the Schulenburg
and Flatonia school districts will be held on Friday, Aug. 6 from 8:30 to
11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Schulenburg ISD.
Parents should contact the Fayette County Shared Service
Arrangement at 979-743-4778 to set up an appointment. Because of
the current health crisis, children will be seen by appointment only.
St. Michael Harvest Feast
The St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held on Sunday,
Aug. 8 at Veterans Memorial Park in Weimar. A polka Mass with Lost
Cause Band will held at 10:30 a.m. A fried chicken/stew meal will be
served starting at 11 a.m. for $10 per plate, with drive-thru take-home
plates at the St. Michael Family Center.
Entertainment will be provided by Shiner Hobo Band, Lost Cause Band
and The Broken Spokes. An auction will be held at 1 p.m. and washer
tourney at 4 p.m. There will also be bingo from 2-6 p.m., country store,
cake walk, treasure chest, antique/classic car show, kids' games, fish
pond, train ride, plinko, etc. along with fireworks at dusk. Hamburgers,
cold drinks and snow cones will be available.
A polka Mass will also be held on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
