have been reported from sever-
al 'sections of Washington Coun-
ty," and the total cotton produc-
tion might well depend on how
long these insects continue to
hatch out in our cotton fields.
Insects act in peculiar and un-
predictable ways. For instance,
we have found, in many cases,
where the bollworm miller has
• laid eggs at the base of cotton
blooms. The small worms then
hatch out and enter the bloom
