Set For April 1
Brenham city commissioners
Monday passed an ordiance calling
for the city election to be held
next April 1.
The election is to name a mayor
and four commissioners. Held
every two years, the election will’
be at the City Hall auditorium.
The regular meeting of the com-
missioners Monday afternoon was
held with Mayor Pro Tem Frank J.
Kubitza presiding in the abserce
of Mayor Reese B. Lockett. Lock-
ett is on the Salt Grass Trail Ride.
The next regular meeting of the

at 805 Crockett Monday morn-
ing. Geisler said he found th
animals in his front yard and
placed them in a corral he has
at his home and fed them. He
, said he figures the animals were
left behind with a wagon which
broke down, and that they broke
away and strayed the three
blocks from the Washington
County Fairgrounds to his resi-
dence. Geisler, who is a cattle-
man, said chances are the owner
will return to pick up the horse
and mule following the end of
the trail ride Wednesday. Mean-
while, the animals are in good
hands and getting plenty to eat.
