Boyer, burly, black-haired and
27, has had a baffling case his-
tory with the Cards. He broke in
with a .264 average in 1955. raised
his swat mark to .306 in 1956, then
unaccountably slumped to .265 last
season.
The Cards, on the verge of
making a deal for Ken on several
occasions, were dissuaded mainly
because other clubs greeted the
idea with such enthusiasm. If he
continues what he has started, it
will be the best thing they never
did.

“I don't know any more about
it than you do," he said. "They
just started dropping in for me.”

sters against five major local
breweries. Teamsters officials
met until early today with repre-
